Already in its first year after its launch in 2005 our Formula CarMaker programm had convinced more than 30 teams. Now in 2009 we are happy to provide this offer to more than 100 teams coming from 13 different countries.

The professional vehicle dynamics simulation is an essential component of any kind of the car development. Therefore, IPG offers all teams of collegiate formulas like Formula Student and Formula SAE the opportunity to use the simulation tools CarMaker and IPGKinematics free of charge. The advantages of the Formula CarMaker program
- With CarMaker and IPGKinematics, the teams will be able to coordinate the body control setup in a professional and, more importantly, systematic manner for all driving tests.
- The simulation provides information which would be very difficult and time-consuming to establish by conducting measurements. For example, the simulation can measure wheel forces, which can be used as information for the dimensioning of the wheel suspension components.
- The team members will be able to quote experience with the application of a high-level vehicle dynamics simulation program when applying for a job.
- In today's automotive industry, chassis development without vehicle dynamics simulation is unthinkable which is why an ambitious Formula Student team should give this technology the appropriate attention.
IPG's Formula CarMaker offer
The teams who decide to use CarMaker and IPGKinematics will be supported by IPG. They will receive:
- Two free licenses of the vehicles dynamics simulation package CarMaker pro (the highest level of CarMaker, including the "Racing Driver" functionality of IPGDriver).
- Two free licenses of the axle kinematics calculation program IPGKinematics
- Free participation of two team members in a workshop specifically designed for Formula CarMaker teams.
- Special data sets for a generic Formula Student vehicle
