Cost-efficient and high-performing platform
The use of multi-core processors on the HIL system has long been standard practice at IPG. The use of the latest multi-core processor boards with up to 8 cores thus makes the corresponding performance available – depending on the respective application. The real-time simulation is supported by a high-performing and flexibly configurable version of the simulation models and the associated I/O connection which can be optionally split in the CarMaker multithreading process. In addition, for a wide range of test rig configurations simulation models from various environments may be integrated into the Xpack4 platform in parallel. Large models can thus be calculated in real time, thus minimizing the investment in hardware and application complexity.
A secure long-term investment
Xpack4 is based on the Compact PCI open industry standard. It enables the utilization of a wide range of industrialized I/O modules and single-board computers by IPG and other suppliers. In addition, customized applications for FPGA-based modules can be flexibly used. The industry standards used by IPG ensure vendor independence combined with flexibility, compatibility and utmost scalability while minimizing costs. And, last but not least, they can be very easily modernized as needed.
