CarMaker now also supports CCP and XCP
IPG Automotive extends the functionality of CarMaker/HIL
CarMaker, the vehicle dynamics software for virtual test driving from IPG Automotive now also provides the acquisition of internal ECU variables at hardware-in-the-loop test benches with CCP and XCP.
IPG Automotive extends the functionality of CarMaker/HIL through a direct access to the internal variables of the ECUs connected to CarMaker/HIL via CAN or Ethernet. The measurement results are introduced online into the simulation of CarMaker so that the system functions integrated in the ECUs can be comprehensively validated.
The communication between CarMaker and the ECU is realized with CCP (Can Calibration Protocol) and XCP (Universal Measurement and Calibration Protocol) and needs no other additional measurement tools. Due to a direct and intuitive access from CarMaker to the ECU parameters the user can configure the measurement completely within the familiar CarMaker environment. ScriptControl, the open scripting language of CarMaker, allows the user to totally automate the measurement and simulation process. During and after the simulation, the results can be evaluated and compared with the graphical and alphanumerical analysis tools of CarMaker.
CarMaker currently supports the measurement via CAN and, in contrast to competing companies, via the universal standard Ethernet. According to customer requirements, the scalable XCP solution from IPG can also be extended for further communication interfaces, e.g. the powerful FlexRay bus system. CarMaker/HIL test benches are therefore perfectly suited for the development of the next generation ECUs.
