Coventry University, UK
At Coventry University CarMaker has already been used for the practical training of students for several years. In practical courses the students improve their knowledge in vehicle dynamics and automotive control engineering. Furthermore they do their final year projects with CarMaker. They learn to apply professional vehicle dynamics simulation - before they start their professional career.
Yuri Vershinin, Senior Lecturer at Coventry University, UK about his teaching activies with CarMaker:
"Thank you very much for the opportunity to use the world leading software IPG CarMaker for teaching at Coventry University. Our students use this package for modelling and simulation of vehicle dynamics, design of active suspension systems and testing of vehicle models on digitized roads, which students incorporate into the package using an automotive telemetry system. Several undergraduate final year projects (BEng) and postgraduate projects (MSc) have been successfully completed by Coventry University students' during last two years.
Our students use several modelling and simulation packages, such for example as MATLAB, Simulink, ADAMS, etc. The CarMaker is based on the MATLAB/Simulink software, thus it is easy to use for students and it well fits in our teaching courses. This academic year we would like to tighter incorporate the CarMaker in teaching on the following course: Motorsport, Automotive Engineering and Automotive Engineering Design courses."
